[영어] Used to와 Would의 차이점

오늘도 간단하게... 문제 몇개 올려 볼께요. ^.^

오늘 문제의 주제는 used to와 would의 사용법에 관한 내용인데요.

 

두 단어 모두 ~ 하곤 했다 라는 의미로 과거에 했지만 지금은 하지 않는

그런 애기를 할때 많이 사용을 하는데요..

 

둘의 차이를 한번 살펴 보시죠.

 

첫번째

used to 는 '~ 하곤 했다'라는 의미로 과거에 반복젇이나 습관적으로 하던 행동을

살명 할때 사용을 합니다.

 

used to 뒤에서 to + 동사 원형이나. to + img 형태의 동사가 올수 있는데요.

그 차이는 be used to 형태는 to + ing를 쓰고, used to 에서는 to 동사 원형을 사용 합니다.

 

예문을 보면

Sara used to travel a lot, Now she hardly ever leaves her neighborhood

사라는 여행을 많이 하고 했지만.. 지금은 거의 그녀의 동네를 떠나지 않습니다.

 

두번째 would도 used to와 마찬 가지고 '~하곤 했다'라는 의미로 많이 사용이 되는데요.

차이점은 상태 동사일때에는 Would를 사용하지 못한다는게 차이점 입니다.

 

예문을 보면

We would go and play tennis every sunday when we lived abroad.

우리는 해외에 살때 매주 일요일 나가서 테니스를 치곤 했다.

 

반면에 아래 문장을 틀린 문장 입니다.

My parents would be polite...(동사가 상태 동사 Polite라 would를 사용하면 안됨)

 

고쳐 보면

My parents used to be polite

우리 부모님들은 친절 하곤 했어요.
