오늘은 간만에 영어 문법 관련된 포스팅 하나 해보려고 합니다.

오늘의 내용은 Either, Neither, Both에 대해서 포스팅을 해보겠습니다.

 

그럼 우선 하나 하나씩 사용법을 살펴 보고 갈까요? ^.^

 

 

1. Either (둘 중 하나) -

🔹 의미

• 둘 중 하나 (어느 쪽이든 하나)
• 긍정문, 의문문, 조건문에서 자주 사용

🔹 기본 구조

• either + 단수 명사
• either of + 복수 명사
• either A or B (A 또는 B)

🔹 예문

1. You can choose either option.
2. → 너는 두 선택지 중 어느 하나든 고를 수 있어.
3. Either answer is acceptable.
4. → 두 답 중 어느 쪽이든 가능하다.
5. I don’t like either movie.
6. → 나는 두 영화 모두 마음에 들지 않는다.

 

2. Neither (둘 다 아니다)

🔹 의미

• 둘 중 어느 것도 아니다
• 문법적으로는 단수 취급
• 부정 의미 → not을 함께 쓰지 않음

🔹 기본 구조

• neither + 단수 명사
• neither of + 복수 명사
• neither A nor B (A도 아니고 B도 아니다)

🔹 예문

1. Neither answer is correct.
2. → 두 답 모두 틀렸다.
3. Neither of the plans works.
4. → 그 계획들 중 어느 것도 효과가 없다.
5. She speaks neither English nor French.
6. → 그녀는 영어도 프랑스어도 하지 못한다.

 

3. Both (둘 다 모두)

🔹 의미

• 둘 다 모두
• 항상 복수 취급

🔹 기본 구조

• both + 복수 명사
• both of + 복수 명사
• both A and B (A와 B 둘 다)

🔹 예문

1. Both answers are correct.
2. → 두 답 모두 맞다.
3. Both of my parents work.
4. → 우리 부모님 두 분 다 일하신다.
5. She likes both coffee and tea.
6. → 그녀는 커피와 차 둘 다 좋아한다.
